  • 1. All accidents can be prevented.
  • 2. Abide by laws and guidelines
    and go one step further.
  • 3. Find the answers on-site.
  • 4. The enemy of safety is not risk
    but indifference.
  • 5. Disclose and share injustices
    and changes.
  • 6. Do not work if there are safety
    issues.
  • 7. Find the source of the risk and
    continue to make improvements
until the risk factor is gone.
  • 8. Think of partners and
    colleagues as family.
  • 9. Continue researching and
    applying the findings.
  • 10. Make the workplace safer
    than your own home.

Creating a safe place to work means we must take action before accidents happen. That’s why we manage safety by securing our facilities, increasing awareness and implementing safety programs for all of our employees and partners. In addition, as part of the basic measures to establish a culture of safety, we carry out campaigns such as “No to Using Smartphones While Walking” and “Clean & Clear” to promote everyday safety at work. We also have our 10 Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H) Commandments that serve as a daily reminder for executives and employees.

Global Manufacturing/EHS Innovation Day for
higher workplace safety standards

Global Manufacturing/EHS Innovation Day for higher
workplace safety standards

To raise workplace safety standards, Samsung has held the annual EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) Innovation Day every year since 2013. In 2019, the CE·IM division and the DS division began holding separate events that were tailored to each division’s operations. The event became bigger as it covered the areas of manufacturing and environmental safety and was renamed "Global Manufacturing/EHS Innovation Day." On this day, each division shares their case studies on evaluating EHS risks in manufacturing and processing and on improving EHS management.

In 2023, Samsung Electronics, Samsung Display, Samsung SDI, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, and Samsung Biologics held the 5th Global Manufacturing and Workplace Safety Innovation Day at the Samsung Electronics DS Giheung site Sporlex, with a total of 1,400 employees participating during the four-day main event and extended exhibition period. This annual event exhibits and shares best practices in manufacturing and environmental safety for each company. This year, 17 activities and representative innovations from three divisions - Safety Innovation Division for building safe and healthy workplaces, Eco-Conscious Division for implementing eco-conscious roadmaps on site, and Smart EHS Division focusing on systems and automation - were shared. In addition, special lectures by external experts on how to implement innovative and safe eco-friendly workplaces were given to employees attending the event, as well as internal seminars on each company's activities.
